Muizenberg Mandrain

As a teenager, I would catch the train to Muizenberg on the weekends and spend whole days there, good or bad surf (once we had paid for our train fare we weren’t going to go home)

I have tried to capture some of the simplicity of life back then and the simplicity of Piet Mondrian’s abstract painting by fusing the two. Using his famous red, yellow, blue colour pallet with the iconic Muizenberg beach huts, shark flag and table mountain to create these fun, colourful pieces to reflect that.
